Oct 6th – Oct 9th

Once again Skyview will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair.  This wonderful event could not be run without our dedicated volunteers!  Thank you Amber Lee, Heather Reed and Bleny George for heading it up!  Below is the calendar of events and hours open for the week of Book Fair.

Friday, Oct 3rd: Student preview day, no shopping.  Clifford appearance!

Monday, Oct 6th: 7:30am-6:00pm.  Early morning shopping with “Pastries for Parents” 7:30am-8:30am, opening day.

Tuesday, Oct 7th: 8am-4pm.  Lunch with Loved Ones.   Suggested for K, 3rd & 5th parents/grandparents.

Wednesday, Oct 8th8am-4pm.   Lunch with Loved Ones.  Suggested for 1st, 2nd, and 4th  parents/grandparents.

Thursday, Oct 9th8am-8pm.  Final Shopping day!  Coincides with late night conferences.

8:05 - 2:55 (Bus Bell 2:47)

Kindergarten:  Full Time - 8:05 - 2:55 every day;
Part Time: All Day Tuesday & Thursdays, half day Friday Mornings 8:05 - 10:50

¢  We integrate math and literacy skills within the science content by using science notebooks at all grade levels.

¢  Skyview students have the opportunity to take part in outdoor education at the Poudre Learning Center each year.

¢  FOSS (Full Option Science System) kits are available for many units at each grade level.

¢  Skyview students use “Engineering is Elementary” Curriculum.

¢  We have connections with engineers in our community.

¢  We-Do Robotics and Mindstorm Robotics are part of the curriculum that each Skyview student participates in.

¢  The foundation are the concepts of ask, imagine, plan, create, and improve.

¢  Our goal is for students to have a conceptual understanding of mathematics.

¢  Our staff teaches the Colorado Common Core Standards.

¢  Teachers use an inquiry based, hands on approach to teaching problem solving.

¢  Students will be able to be flexible in their thinking as to come up with answers to problems in a variety of ways.

¢  Skyview staff has worked closely with the district math consultants to ensure high level math instruction.
